Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.

Greensboro is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Greensboro is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This store is one of my favorite places in the triad. Locally owned by a wonderful couple, every employee is kind and generous with their support, today I left with a handwritten sourdough recipe and tips from my sales associate. Ad an experience, The Extra Ingredient goes the extra mile. Worth every penny I have ever spent here. π

Review written by my teenage daughter, who went to this store to buy her mother a gift. βWhile on the hunt for a specific baking pan, I stopped in this store and was warmly greeted by an employee at the front. She led me to the product which I had described to her, was very kind, and then left me to look through the pans. The kind of pans I wanted were stacked on the very bottom shelf, and the specific color I needed was beneath around five other pans. So, I began to carefully set the other pans aside to get the one beneath. However, while I was looking, I heard the obvious noise of someone clearing their throat. It wasnβt a usual cough, but someone trying to get attention. I glanced over my shoulder to see a different employee standing over my shoulder with a questioning look on her face. Without a greeting, she asked, βDo you know what youβre doing?β I was taken aback and tried to explain that yes, I knew what I was doing and what I was looking for. I wasnβt slamming the pans around, just gently attempting to get the pan at the very bottom, which I had in my hands at this point. So I stood and smiled at her. This conversation, I thought, was over. But then she asked, βDo you

Stopped here on the way from a doctors appointment. What a great place.. they had all kind of wonderful things. The staff was friendly and willing to provide any assistance if needed. I will definitely be back.. as I am a firm believer of supporting our local stores.

This is a wonderful specialty gourmet kitchen store!!! It is family-owned and has been around for 40 years. If you're looking for high-quality kitchenware, this is the place to go! They also have an amazing selection of specialty coffees, locally made goodies, and fun kitchen gadgets. And I can't say enough about their wonderful staffβ like shopping with your best friends! I highly recommend this store!! Much better than a chain!
